Our research shows the huge economic burden of these conditions. Whilst the 4 conditions in green are not Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), over time they can cause or lead to the 4 NCDs in focus. NCDs are conditions that are not passed on from person to person but are chronic conditions that have long-term health consequences.

The 4 NCDs in focus, if left unaddressed, are projected to escalate Indonesia's and Australia’s Economic Burdens to US$12.27B and USD$52.59B respectively, by 2034. Click here to find out more.

3

major challenges

encountered by individuals living in rural areas

1. Fragmented Digital Health Infrastructure

Absence of a centralized, continuously updated medical record system limits seamless access to patient data for both clinicians and patients, hindering coordinated care.

2. Limited and Uneven Access to Healthcare

Barriers such as poor internet connectivity, shortage of healthcare professionals, and geographic isolation reduce timely access to medical services, especially in rural and remote areas.

3. High Cost of Healthcare

The financial burden of travel, combined with the expense of treatment (particularly specialist consultations), makes healthcare inaccessible for many, exacerbating health inequities.

Our Patient Journey

A patient in rural Indonesia goes to their local GMedCC-connected clinic, unsure of their diagnosis and how to manage it.

Local rural clinic

Genia1.AI* is a multi-parameter medical device designed to support non-invasive monitoring of up to 11 health indicators, including vital signs, selected blood serum markers, ECG signals, and skin surface observations. The device securely syncs both live and asynchronously with GMedCC’s Digital Health Platform (DHP) using unique Patient IDs. This integration enables clinicians to access timely patient data and contextual insights that assist in identifying conditions that may require further evaluation or clinical attention.

Doctor/Nurse Assessment

Doctors’ examinations are seamlessly incorporated into the DHP. Embedded AI models in GeniaHealthAI* assist clinicians by highlighting relevant anomalies and correlations that may warrant further attention during triage or treatment planning.

4

AI-powered decision support

Following clinic visits, patients may be invited to access the Digital Health Platform (DHP) via App* or web. The platform enables measurement monitoring (via integrated medical devices), symptom tracking, e-medication reordering, and appointment scheduling for tele-consults with their clinical team. These features support ongoing clinical engagement and data sharing under clinician supervision.

5

Continuos Connection

Patient’s community

Local health workers (cadres) conduct regular visits to patients and use a community-shared Genia1.AI device to support clinical data collection and highlight relevant patterns for clinician review. The device is designed to assist with early-stage assessments under professional supervision.

6

Community Check-ups

Patient’s home

With access to GMedCC’s Digital Health Platform (DHP) and Genia Health App, patients can monitor health readings from home using compatible devices. The self check-up tool allows manual entry of measurements, which are securely recorded under each patient’s unique ID. Data is synced asynchronously via the GeniaHealth App when internet connectivity is available, supporting clinician-led care.

The availability of medical devices such as Genia1.AI and other approved technologies helps improve access to healthcare services for patients in rural or remote areas. These devices support early identification of potential health concerns and may prompt users to seek timely clinical evaluation. Integrated with the GMedCC DHP via the GeniaHealth App, patients can receive notifications related to self-care guidance, appointment reminders, teleconsultation scheduling, and medication reordering, enhancing continuity of care.
